MotoGPTM is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing and for the past 25 years it has been a story of successful collaboration between the FIM, IRTA, the MSMA and Dorna.
The premier class features the most technologically advanced and fastest prototype machinery on the planet, producing over 250hp on a bike that weighs less than 160kg, resulting in 0-100km/h (62mph) times in under three seconds, and top speeds of over 350km/h (217mph). Add to this the extreme lean-angles of over 60-degress from vertical, and braking forces in excess of 1.5G to be resisted with just hands and feet, it’s clear to see why the riders’ talents are often beyond comprehension.
