The Supercross GP World Championship, promoted by Dorna and Clear Channel Entertainment, is the world’s most important off-road bike competition. The series has 17 rounds held between December and May, offering spectators an exciting show, with tight battles, impressive jumps and very demanding tracks.
Supercross GP is designed to offer the best entertainment for spectators watching the show on-site or on television. Its characteristics are the same as those of motocross, but at an indoor venue with a 500-metre track full of obstacles and sharp corners, where each lap lasts about 50 seconds.
The best off-road riders of the world participate in Supercross GP, and the most prestigious manufacturers are also keen to be a part of this competition.
Each event in the Supercross GP World Championship is disputed in a single day during the evening. The successive eliminatory heats conclude with a grand finale of 20 laps, where the 20 top classified riders participate. The competition lasts for more than three hours in total, although the TV package produced and distributed by Clear Channel Entertainment and Dorna is a 52-minute highlights compacting all the action: incredible manoeuvres, impossible overtakings, and inconceivable jumps which allow the audience to enjoy the competition atmosphere from home.
